A journey of discovery of the Northern Lights and the wonderful light of the North amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Lofoten Islands.
Deep fjords, majestic mountains and picturesque fishing villages will accompany us along the winding roads through this unique stretch of coastline in the Norwegian Arctic, considered a true natural paradise.
Arrival at Evenes airport and transfer to our accommodation.
If conditions permit, we will conduct an initial session for photographing the Northern Lights.
We transfer to Leknes to explore the rugged coast its famous beaches. Uttakleiv, Haukland, and Unstad beaches have become very popular in recent years among professional photographers from around the world and many enthusiasts who travel to the large island of Vestvågøy.
The fishing village of Ballstad, at the foot of the steep Mount Slettinden, is known for its picturesque fishing harbor, surrounded by rugged mountains and colorful wooden houses. The harbor is still active and provides a home for a small fishing fleet.
The beach of Uttakleiv is probably the most iconic location, a true natural gem. A white cove nestled between high mountains, where from sunrise to sunset we can devote ourselves to long exposures and original compositions by taking advantage of the countless close-ups in the bay.
We move towards the beautiful Reine Bay, the most iconic place in the Lofoten Islands and one of the most famous locations in all of Norway. For three days we will photograph the most striking corners of the bay and its surroundings that have become an icon of Northern Europe over the years.
Using Reine as a base we will travel to incredible locations such as Flakstad, Fredvang, the charming UNESCO heritage fishing village of Nusfjord, to Skagsanden beach, whose uniqueness is hidden in the details of the sand, which offer the photographer an extraordinary variety of cues for close-ups and compositions.
Should conditions allow, every night we will be out chasing the Northern Lights.
The day will begin with a new sunrise photo session to capture the picture-postcard landscapes of Reine Bay and Hamnøy.
After a short rest we begin the transfer to Svolvaer, our last stop in Lofoten as well as one of the main settlements in the entire Lofoten archipelago.
The last day of our trip is devoted to Svolvaer, the capital of Lofoten, and the village of Henningsvaer, the Venice of Lofoten. The village, about 20 kilometers from the capital, has managed to preserve its natural beauty that has developed over the centuries.
Sunset session before returning to our hotel in Svolvaer.
